How WILdblue
works!
CTESC's WildBlue Internet service connects you to the Internet
through a 26-inch minidish
mounted outside of your home or building. The minidish can be mounted
on
a wall, roof, or a special pole with a view of the southern sky. The
minidish
is equipped
with both a transmitter and receiver for two-way
satellite
connectivity to the Internet. CTESC's WildBlue service does not use
your existing cable
or phone
lines. It is accessible to virtually every home and small business in
the Texas
Hill Country, including
the homes and
small offices not wired for DSL or Cable service.
A WildBlue modem is installed inside your home or office, connecting
your PC to the WildBlue
network. Multiple PCs can be connected to
the WildBlue modem through the use of a router. WildBlue uses
standardized modem technology based on the DOCSIS cable modem standards
to offer a low-cost, small satellite modem.

may also apply. A Standard Installation includes
the following: - Professional
installation of the WildBlue equipment by a Certified Installer
- Up to 100
foot of RG-6 cable from antenna to modem
- Cable
routed through one exterior wall and one interior wall or floor
Non-standard
installations may
result in additional charges. Please confirm with the premise
technician that your installation will be standard prior
to allowing the technician to start work. If your installation is
non-standard, any additional charges must be agreed upon between
subscriber and premise technician prior to beginning work.
